3 years sober 🖤

i made the decision to give up alcohol three years ago. i have gained so much more than i have given up.

being sober has felt like such a freedom. an empowerment. it gives me so much clarity and allows me to feel full control.

i also wanna put out a reminder that you don’t need to “qualify as an alcoholic” or “hit rock bottom” to decide that alcohol isn’t doing you any good.

my sobriety is an act of self-love.

it has felt so powerful to share my journey with getting sober. not worrying about judgement, but just hoping that people respect, support, or gain something from my vulnerability.

sobriety has helped me align with the life for me. and i’m so proud of myself.

and as always, no matter what you’re struggling with: addiction, mental health, grief, anything…take it one day at a time. 🤍
