If you drive the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge auto tour route this time of year, watch for the baby yellow-headed blackbirds along the road in the phrag and cattails, they are easily heard calling for their parents to bring them food.

Yesterday while on a birdwatching trip to the Bear River Migratory ...

If you're wondering what the temporary Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge auto tour route is like right now for birdwatching, I drove it yesterday and video recorded as many birds as I could to give others an idea of what they might expect. So far this year, this was the best trip I've had on the temporary route with a lot of new birds showing up on yesterday's trip, including a great egret and a cattle egret. Watch the video and drop your questions in the video comments and I'll answer them as best as I can.

Today's birdwatching trip around the temporary Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge auto tour route produced a lot of great birds and was the best birding trip I...

It's almost wildflower season up in the mountains. This is up Logan canyon that eventually feeds water to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge through the Logan River. Each summer, there are a couple spots up the canyon where large stands of wildflowers bloom, making the area come alive with vibrant colors.

A black-headed grosbeak visited my birdbath this morning, and why I make sure I have water out 365 days of the year. You can attract the most birds and biggest variety of bird species to your backyard by putting out a simple birdbath. Even if you dont put out food, you can still attract and enjoy birds in the backyard by offering them some water each day.
