It really does matter who you choose to document your wedding day. 🤍
Your photographer is going to be there for more of your wedding day than almost anyone else. They’ll see the nervous moments, the happy tears, the chaos behind the scenes, the deep breaths before you walk down the aisle, the moments with your people, and all the little things you probably won’t even realize happened until you see your gallery.
So yes, you should love their work.
But don’t stop there.
You should like the person behind the camera, too.
Choose someone whose presence feels comfortable. Someone whose personality works with yours. Someone who can keep their head when things don’t go exactly according to plan. Someone who cares about your experience - not just getting the perfect image for their portfolio or another piece of content for their Instagram.
And look beyond the pretty photos when you’re comparing photographers.
Ask what’s included. Ask how they handle emergencies. Ask about backup plans. Ask how they approach family photos, timelines, difficult lighting, unexpected weather, and all the little things that can come up on a wedding day. Look at full galleries, not just the handful of images that made it onto their feed.
Because your wedding photographer isn’t just delivering photographs.
They’re helping preserve one of the most important days of your life.
And when the flowers are gone, the cake is eaten, the dress is hanging in your closet, and the day exists only in your memories…
those photographs are what you’ll have left to return to.
So choose someone you trust to tell your story well.
Choose someone who cares.
Choose someone you genuinely want beside you.
It matters who you pick. 🤍
