i sat in the dirt and didn’t move
suddenly i was surrounded.
wild mustangs.
fresh out of winter.
shedding the cold right off their backs.
Babies curled in the dry grass while the mommas stood by.
my eyes filled with tears.
My heart beating out of my chest.
being that close to something that has never once been tamed.
that is still fully, completely itself in the middle of all the chaos.
