Listen, I love bts and content as much as the next person. It’s fun to post about working and what it looks like, but don’t lose the plot of a wedding day.

This is someone’s wedding, not a content shoot. So many moments can’t be recreated or captured again. We are hired to (unobtrusively) look for the authentic moments as they happen throughout the day, not just create pretty portraits in perfect lighting and fun, playful shots on film.

Our eyes should be constantly peeled looking for those real emotions and reactions. The laughs, the tears, the smiles and even the goofy faces. Of course some things might not get captured because we can’t be in 10 places at once, but when things are disregarded because they’re not “pretty enough” or the “I don’t need that” mentality comes out to play, I get a little feisty.

Maybe I’ll catch some heat for this opinion, but I’ve never cared much about what people think of me, only that my clients are happy and never once had to question how their wedding day was captured 😅

I’ll always be quietly scanning a room looking for the people that matter to you most, making sure the authentic moments are caught while also producing beautiful portraits you can look at and feel those same feelings you had the day you married your love.
