If you make music or enjoy it in any way, please read this (and share it too). These photos are just a fraction of the local CNY artists I've had the pleasure of working with, all at local CNY venues.

I have been working in the music industry for coming up on two years. While yes, this is a short time, I am proud to have worked with many kind and passionate fellow artists. I am even more proud to call many of them friends. So, my friends, I am reaching out to you to ask; why are you ignoring posts about ? Why don't I see you advocating and using your platform to promote this cause? Your band will not play shows anymore. The venues and promoters we love WILL go under. Why don't you care? Do you not love music/making music? This isn't a, "maybe" or a "that won't happen here". IT WILL HAPPEN.

The National Independent Venue Association projects that 90% of independent venues in the US will permanently close without aid. On top of that, live events employ over 12 million people. 77% of people in the live events industry have lost 100% of their income. Come on guys, I don't know why those who are involved in this music scene are not sharing this or caring about it. Stop ignoring it + sharing your stupid memes and ACT for once. It takes THIRTY SECONDS.

It breaks my heart that there's a good chance I won't get to work with you again or shoot your band's set again. I genuinely love those I've met through this scene so much, but I can't do this alone. You need to make your voice heard.

Dear Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator Chuck Schumer, Brian Higgins, Nydia Velazquez, Marco Rubio, and Senator Ben Cardin,

I am a live music photographer based out of Upstate New York. The images on this post are all from shows at independent venues around the North East. I am encouraging you to support the Save Our Stages Act + the Restart Act, which will offer financial assistance to independent musicians, venues, and promoters. They will be without income for the next year. I love my job so much, my friends that work in the industry with me love their jobs so much. It breaks my heart to have to reconsider my career and my future when I have my dream job. If this is not supported, live music will effectively die in the United States for the foreseeable future. Even when it is safe to continue shows and tours, they will not go on, as artists will have no venues to play or promoters to book shows. Please and support these bills.
