Hi…it’s me Madi!
It feels like with my personal life changing so much this year, I am different. My business feels different. And I want to share that.
When I started my business, one thing I’ve wanted to stand out is that I’m human.
I’ve always wanted this to feel personal. To feel like me. And that means sharing the hard things, too.
As many of you know, I became a mom to my first baby in November. What most people don’t know is that I struggled with severe postpartum depression and anxiety that almost took my life. It took me almost five months to finally speak up and get help.
I finally started feeling like myself again. I could breathe. I could be present.
And then, on May 25th, I unexpectedly lost my mom.
I was six months postpartum, and suddenly I was learning how to be a mother while grieving mine.
I stepped away from work for even longer. I needed to.
But through all of it, I realized something: photographs seriously matter.
I know that now in a way I never could have before.
Because when someone you love is suddenly gone, the photographs become so much more than photographs. They become pieces of them. Pieces of a life you wish you could have held onto forever.
And I think that’s changed the way I see the work I get to do for my clients.
Your photos become more than a wedding gallery. They become memories. Proof. Pieces of people and seasons we never get back.
I love my job. I love love.
And I’m stepping into this next chapter with a little more intention, a little more heart, and a whole lot more understanding of why my work really matters.
Your story matters. Everyone in it matters. No matter who you are or who you love. I’m there to document it as it is…to have and cherish for eternity 🫶🏼
