In 1992, I opened Breckenridge Photographics - a full service photo lab, retail store and photography gallery in Breckenridge, Colorado. Using my professional darkroom, enlarger and E-6 equipment, I was able to build my photography collection and showcase my work in the gallery. I processed professional film for photographers throughout Colorado. The photo lab also attracted commercial clients lik
e Eddie Bauer and Lands End. I had two full-time employees at that time to assist with film processing, retail sales, and matting and framing for the gallery. As film gave way digital, I found I had to reinvent my business and adjust to changes in the industry. The digital revolution brought a new wave of camera sales, but competition from the internet made retail difficult. I am now a mostly one-man operation. I take pride in the fact that I am able to educate my clients as to the best gear for their particular needs and photographic pursuits. I take the time to show my clients how to use their new cameras, and recommend techniques and accessories that they can use to improve their photos. I am always available to my clients, long after they have made a purchase, to assist them with questions. I also enjoy teaching lectures and workshops. Since 1989, I have had over forty national magazine covers and two hundred articles published. My gallery has been growing since I first opened the shop in 1991. I have hundreds of images of Breckenridge and Summit County, which I hand-produce and frame. I also have a large collection of images from my travels in the Southwest, Mexico, Hawaii and Australia. Many of my images have been published. All of my images are signed and numbered limited editions.
