Silver Dollar City announces Miner's Mountain Express for 2027!
This will be a family runaway mine car roller coaster that is going between Wildfire and Powderkeg creating a path between the two amazing roller coasters with Miner's Mountain Express in the middle. What do you think of this? Is this a good "Thunderation replacement"? I think so!!

If you haven't been following what is going on at Silver Dollar City, they're building a new roller coaster for 2027. Today was the big announcement and I thought it was going to be a more extreme roller coaster. But, I think this will fit in the park and area quite well and I'm looking forward to riding it in 2027!!

Tonight will be another great night to catch the Perseid meteor shower. Last night was likely the peak, tonight should feature elevated meteor rates that are still worth your time. If you were clouded out last night, hopefully this forecast below is more accommodating for you!

METEOR SHOWER TONIGHT! ☄️ Look up, one of the best meteor showers of the year peaks from Midnight to Dawn and the timing is perfect: the Perseids are peaking under a New Moon, meaning virtually no moonlight will wash out the show.

Roughly 50–100 meteors per hour are possible under ideal conditions, although a more realistic count is a few dozen per hour for most depending on darkness, clouds and light pollution.

You may even notice meteors flashing different colors as their material and the surrounding atmosphere glow during entry—and the Perseids are especially famous for bright, colorful fireballs and long-lasting trails. No telescope is needed—just a dark sky, some patience and your own eyes.
