Last October, I attended my first endurance race: IMSA’s annual Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. What started as a half-serious “Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to be there for the SC63’s final race? It’s at Road Atlanta.” quickly turned into booking flights and an Airbnb. Needless to say, I think the trip out to Braselton is going to have to be a recurring thing. 10 hours seems like a lot of time to be walking around in the sun while lugging camera gear, but at Road Atlanta there’s just so many places to enjoy the race from that the entire race just seems to fly by. Had a hard time picking my favorite shots from the weekend, but here’s some of the ones that stood out to me the most.

As the IMSA Championship prepares to descend upon the streets of Long Beach once again, I thought now would be a good time to look back at some of last year’s photos. The current lineup of the GTP and GTD classes spoils us as race fans and with the likes of Aston Martin joining us this year and Ford not far out, it’s difficult to argue that we aren’t in the middle of yet another golden era of racing.

It’s hard to find a combo that beats a CLK GTR Roadster and a sunset during Car Week. I’m open to suggestions though… ...

Getting to experience a blue Pagani Zonda Revolucion going around a track, both from the outside and the inside, was once little more than a dream for me. However this last weekend, that dream became very real. Within minutes I went from being a spectator to wearing a full fire suit and crash helmet, strapping myself into a five-point harness, and feeling myself being pressed back into the seat as this carbon-clad track weapon viciously propelled me up the hill of Turn 1 at Sonoma Raceway.

Colorful verbiage aside, I’d really like to thank and as well as all the other people who helped make this experience possible. Velocity Invitational gets better and better each year, bringing together more people and greater cars in a celebration of speed, art, and noise.
