A few weeks ago, I was honored with the chance to photograph these beautiful people their wedding day. Mickey and Bailey exchanged vows in private, which I was allowed to photograph from afar, before guests arrived. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of meaning and authenticity.

The love these two felt for each other, and their family and friends, was palpable. And I am so grateful they asked me to capture those moments.

I had been planning all day to take my "cheap" manual lens out for a spin if the rain if it let up enough. And when it did, I found my enthusiasm drain away when faced with the actual prospect. I stood at the door parsing through of all the reasons I should stay in.

I remembered past adventures where I'd pedaled, hiked, or fished through worse, and the feeling of accomplishment that comes from pushing through a little discomfort. And this was only a light, albeit chilly, rain. So I tucked my camera, with my "cheap" little manual lens into my pack and headed out, hoping the State Theater would still be it up.
