As I retuned to AVAM yesterday, I was reminiscing on Joanna and Sidd’s big day in October there! We took some awesome photos at the waterfront and then headed over to the museum for their two ceremonies. They had one American ceremony and a traditional Indian ceremony complete with traditions such as the Seven Steps, with each step signifying the couple’s journey through their marriage. Their fun-loving personalities shone through their entire day, and I loved the colorful outfits and decor! 💕

It’s been almost exactly a year since I photographed a wedding at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in DC, and I still think about how stunning it was. The arches, mosaics, and soft golden light remind me so much of the cathedrals I fell in love with in Italy. It feels like a little piece of Europe tucked right into the city, a hidden gem for anyone who only knows DC for its monuments and museums. I hope I have more chances to photograph spaces like this, they’re so beautiful.
