Sanctuary?
Pulled this from the archive this morning — shot over twelve years ago at a small primate sanctuary near Tampa Bay (Near Kelby One) that takes in lab and abused primates. Noble mission, chronically underfunded.
This guy and I locked eyes for a few minutes. Then he crossed his arms and gave me this look.
I didn’t need a caption then. Still don’t.

Something here is finishing, or beginning —
in a landscape still evolving from what it was.

The rains have returned, but the landscape is different — still reorganizing after the 2024 hurricanes and one of the worst droughts in recent memory.
