Attention is not bad.
But chasing attention at the expense of trust is a terrible business strategy.
The old version of me would have told you that attention was the whole game. I preached it for years.
Now I see it differently.
Attention is an entry point—not the outcome.
The real question is this: after someone sees your content, what have you taught them to expect from you?
Does it reinforce your expertise?
Does it protect the level of professionalism you want to be known for?
Does it make the right client more confident in choosing you?
Because marketing gets you noticed. Your brand sets expectations. And trust gets you chosen.
You can win the algorithm and still lose the client you actually want.
Do not just be seen.
Be remembered for the right reasons.
Would your content make your ideal client trust you more—or less?
