I was not going post this fish again. I figured I’d just go keep fishing and try to catch another one, which I will do as much as possible. But after realizing I may never catch one this long again in my life, I figured one more post couldn’t hurt.
This musky taped out at just over 52” I measured 3 times 😂

Every time I think about it eating the bait right at the boatside on a figure 8 I get fired up all over again.

Time to go chase that feeling down as many times as possible.

A year ago, I caught my first musky fishing with Donnie Vincent | Filmmaker in Wisconsin. It was not huge, maybe 30” fish. But since then, I’ve been acquiring pieces of gear here and there to actually chase them a little more when I had the chance.
A family trip got scheduled and the lake we are staying in has a good musky population so I figured from 4:30-6:30 every morning I could go throw huge baits and hopefully hook into one.
Morning 2, reeling in a big plastic lure, I did a little drag of the lure along the boat at the end of reeling it in and this fish shot out from underneath and missed. I did a big figure 8 and she hammered it on the next pass.

Will admit. Let out a loud yell of excitement (bit of a Rick Flair vibe) when I got it in the net. A net that I picked up on Facebook marketplace just 3 days ago as the final piece I needed in the kit. Haha!

Fully addicted now.

10 day stretch of 90+ degrees here on the great plains. I close my eyes and think of this instead and it helps cool the soul. Ready for it.
