40 YEARS…… 📸
Photo Works, Inc. was established in October 1986. It’s hard to believe that four decades have passed since I started this company.

40 years. Four studios. 5,115 projects. 26 cameras.

Today, the Photo Works archive of client images fills 29 banker boxes, countless DVDs, and 34 hard drives. And perhaps most remarkable of all: in 40 years, not a single client image has ever been lost.

Photo Works, Inc. has also been profitable every year of its existence — a claim that, as I like to point out, many wildly successful companies can’t make.

Our very first photo shoot was for Diamond Printing and Mailing, a division of Dana Incorporated, for the Dana Precision Controls Division. From that first assignment, an incredible journey began.

I wish there were enough time and space here to thank every great client, customer, friend, colleague, and supporter who helped make these 40 years possible. The list would be so long that no one would probably stick around to read it!

The truth is simple: without clients and customers, no business can exist. I am deeply grateful to every person and every company that trusted Photo Works, Inc. over these four decades.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

And finally, the visual accompanying this post is my very first business card, featuring the original Photo Works, Inc. logo designed by my friend and talented designer, Nan Reny.

Hollywood comes to Tontogany! Here is a behind the scenes peak for you. G*il Animal House Glass, llc was filmed for the documentary The Story of Art in America. This is the sixth season of the documentary highlighting artists in various cities. We will send you a link once everything is finished. It could be a while as I believe we are the first of eight cities (by city, I mean Toledo), that the film crew will be visiting over the next 21 days. Credit for getting our area included in the documentary goes to The Arts Commission Americart
It was a fun day hanging out with the director and two cinematographers working on the project, here are links to the three of them.

I recently posted a behind the scenes shot of a Viviano Flower Shop, Inc. photo shoot. A common practice in commercial photography is to never post a photograph to social media before the client does, here are some photographs shot last year. We tend to shoot months before the actual holiday the flowers will be used for. It Is extremely difficult for the flower shop to get flowers that are out of season and have them be in full bloom the day of the photo shoot, but don't they accomplish it nicely?

It's Christmas here on the back lot of Photo Works, Inc. The Viviano Flower Shop, Inc. was here for a couple of days to photograph their holiday line up[. No I can't actually let you see the flowers yet! Are you ready for Christmas?😀

It’s not often I shoot fashion photography, but this photograph of my sister is currently being used by Maxim magazine as a promo shot for the category she is competing in on social media. She is presently in first place with only a few days of voting to go, the top 15 in each category will then move onto the finals. The prize for the competition includes $50,000 and a chance to walk the runway in Miami. Best of luck, Anita!

Another year, another Waterford Bank, N.A. annual report. Every year brings a new creative design concept by Communica and this year was no exception. For the most part, the people photographs are the ones I completed. A little slow at getting this one posted as it was completed in the spring. Unfortunately the Internet does not do this project justice, the beautifully printed piece can be seen at any Waterford Bank.

From Toledo to the national stage 🏈✨

We Are the Toledo Troopers, produced by Communica’s Anserina Films is now streaming on Amazon and additional major platforms, sharing the true story of the women behind the winningest team in pro football history.

We’re also excited to share that the documentary has gained attention from the NFL, leading to the opportunity to feature the film’s poster in the Super Bowl souvenir program. This is a powerful moment of recognition for both the film and the Troopers’ legacy. Congratulations to the entire team on bringing this legendary story to audiences across the country!
