Approximately 150 reenactors from several different states gathered on the large field across Scottsville Road from Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green, Ky., to portray the German-led Axis forces and the U.S.-led Allied forces fighting battles that allowed France to be liberated from N**i Germany in August 1944 as nonprofit Honoring Our Heroes hosted its fourth annual Operation Anvil World War II reenactment on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022. The event, sponsored by Service One Credit Union, also included a ceremony with members of Greenwood High School Junior ROTC to honor military veterans in attendance, as well as food trucks and T-shirt sales. The Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center hosted its fifth annual Over the Edge for Child Advocacy fundraiser at Stadium Park Plaza in downtown Bowling Green, Ky., on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022. More than 100 participants went “over the edge” Friday and Saturday for the event, helping BRACAC surpass its goal of $125,000 to help provide professional treatment for child sexual abuse victims.
