Before I ever considered architecture/interior photography, I tagged along on an OFFBEAT trip to the Faroe Islands with my husband and a crew of landscape photographers. While I looove a good landscape, I’m not drawn to photograph them beyond my phone. I was there for the adventure, but rented a Leica Camera Q2 for funsies (which later led to irresponsibly purchasing a Q3, bc iykyk).

We kept a respectful distance from houses as the Faroese had become rightfully annoyed with tourists sticking cameras in their windows. But as dramatic and unreal as the landscapes were, I was head over heels for the homes. Completely smitten, I spent my time photographing them the best I could in a respectful, unobtrusive way.

I didn’t know then that I’d become a residential interior/architecture photographer, but I look back at the photos and think well, that makes sense 💚

And if anyone happens to have a connection with a Faroese homeowner for a closer capture… 🙋🏻‍♀️☺️

People step away from their daily routines, conversations happen more naturally and teams connect in ways that don’t always happen in the office.

When people hear “interior and architecture photography,” they often think of glossy magazine spreads or industry portfolios. But I’ve fallen in love with another side of this work— one that has nothing to do with selling and everything to do with preserving.

I’ve come to believe that photographing a family home is one of the most meaningful ways to honor memories and preserve the spaces that shaped us. The place where birthdays were celebrated, traditions were built and everyday life quietly unfolded. Images of family homes become heirlooms— not because of their monetary value, but because of the memories they hold.

Professional photography provides a way to preserve the legacy of your home, and I would LOVE to listen to your stories and help you capture what it feels like to be home 💛

Family homes hold years, or even decades, of stories. Yet life often brings transitions that require us to part with a home that held so much of our life. Sometimes it’s moving parents into a retirement community or smaller residence. Other times, it’s a cross-country move for work or simply the start of a new chapter. The place where birthdays were celebrated, traditions were built and everyday life quietly unfolded is sold or emptied. In the midst of all the logistics and emotions, one thing often gets overlooked: documenting the home itself.

As a professional interior photographer, I’ve come to believe that photographing a family home is one of the most meaningful ways to honor memories and preserve the spaces that shaped us. I capture not just what the home looks like, but I listen to your stories and capture what it feels like to be home.
