One of those summer nights at Valley of Fire that somehow felt cooler than the temperature actually said. It said it was 106, honestly it felt more like 90 and that feels wonderful this time of the year.
The sun was starting to drop, the rocks were glowing, and little lizards were making their way across the desert like they owned the place. Everything around us felt a little unreal—like we had stepped onto another planet for the evening.
But my favorite part was these two.
They were so comfortable together, so genuinely themselves, and their love came through without us having to force anything. They allowed me creative freedom, the kind that brings out the magic in the photos. The kind you can’t re-create copying a Pinterest photo. The authentic, real, and break-taking kind of creativity that couples come to me for and when they let me loose, they get results like these.
The laughs, the little looks, the way they naturally reached for each other—it all just felt easy. The conversations we had were amazing. The fun we had was even more amazing. I truly did not want it to end.
And honestly, that’s what I love most about engagement sessions. Getting to photograph two people exactly as they are, in a place that already feels a little magical. Getting to know them before their wedding day. Getting to have time with them, just the three of us for a short amount of time before we step into a day that is shared with their family and friends. A day I am thankful for and another day coming here so soon that I am looking forward to 🥹🤍🫶🏻.
