Peggy's Cove lighthouse. I have read that this is the most photographed lighthouse in Nova Scotia. I can see why! A lone lighthouse, perched atop beautiful granite headlands is such an idyllic scene.

Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This small port town on Nova Scotia’s south coast is rich with maritime history and colonial architecture, and is an absolute gem! It felt like a combination of Rockport, Gloucester, and Provincetown. Such a wonderful place to visit.

With September comes sunflowers! I visited my favorite field as yesterday’s storm was approaching. I love the contrast between the flowers and the gray sky.

Happy Father’s Day! I would like to honor my Dad by sharing two old 3x5 photographs he took, probably in 1976-77. These photos came to me in faded and discolored condition. I thought that I could possibly restore them! So, I photographed them with my macro lens and went to work on them digitally. I have included before and after for reference.

I am thrilled to be able preserve the beauty that my father captured with his lens so many years ago! I hope you enjoy these. They were a treat to work on.

I’ve been wanting to photograph Sedona’s Cathedral Rock for years! Finally there, and in awe of the place, I had to find my composition. Turns out that the best place was standing in the middle of the river! Wet pants be damned I wanted my shot! I stood there until the sun set and blue hour began. Suddenly, the rock just took on such a soft beautiful glow! It lasted only a few minutes and was gone. Such a rewarding moment! A little Fall color made it all the more special! Thanks for looking!

This was my first time visiting the south rim of the Grand Canyon. It was cold and blustery when I arrived as cloud cover obscured the canyon. Throughout the day, snow squalls passed through the canyon. I thought I was going to get skunked, but eventually the weather hinted at clearing in time for sunset. After spending the day scouting, I decided that this was to be my vantage point. I stood here for about an hour, shivering with numb fingers, but patiently waiting for that special moment when the days last light would illuminate the canyon. My efforts were rewarded with this photograph. I couldn’t be happier! This one’s for you Dad!
