Summer has been full around here, in the very best ways.

We celebrated the end of the school year and soaked up family time. We spent a week on Martha’s Vineyard and ate far too many Back Door Donuts. I photographed some truly lovely summer weddings and sessions. And somewhere in there, we’ve been trying to enjoy our own New England summer, too.

I’ve also been sharing more personal updates on my blog each month. They’re a mix of family life, things I’m loving, recent work, and whatever else has been happening around here.

If you like these little peeks behind the camera, there’s usually more waiting there.

I also send a monthly newsletter with updates, recent posts, and news from Christine Hazel Photography. You can join through my website, which is linked in my bio.

And if you’re seeing this when I post it, I’ll pop the link in my stories too. 🤍

Cape Cod has always been home for Taylor.

Her family has spent summers here for years, and when it came time to plan their wedding, there wasn’t much debate. She wanted to invite the people they love most to experience the place that had shaped so many of her favorite memories.

For Griffin, it became a chance to welcome both families into a place that now feels like home for them, too.

Every part of their Wychmere Beach Club wedding reflected that heart. A beach ceremony overlooking Nantucket Sound. Hand-painted oyster shells made by Taylor’s mom. A reception filled with lush hydrangeas, fresh seafood, and one of the happiest dance floors I’ve photographed all year.

What I’ll remember most, though, isn’t a single detail.

It’s the way Taylor and Griffin celebrated their marriage by caring so well for everyone around them. Every choice pointed back to the people they love, and that made the day feel just as beautiful as it looked.

If you’re dreaming about a Wychmere Beach Club wedding or planning a Cape Cod wedding, I hope this celebration gives you plenty of inspiration, even beyond the photos. he best weddings aren’t remembered because every detail was perfect. They’re remembered because everyone left feeling loved.

Kelsy and Victor waited six years for this Publick House wedding.

They married in 2020, when gathering everyone they loved was impossible. This June, their family finally came together in Sturbridge to celebrate properly.

Some relatives traveled from other countries for this long-awaited wedding day. Two of Victor’s cousins even surprised him after the ceremony.

They quietly moved into the front row after Kelsy entered. Victor finally saw them once the ceremony ended, and his reaction was priceless.

His first look reaction was equally good, if we’re being honest. Apparently, six years of marriage did nothing to calm his excitement.

Kelsy filled their Publick House Historic Inn wedding with handmade details. She made their invitations, signs, friendship bracelets, and treats for guests.

Still, the people remained at the heart of everything they planned. This wedding honored the marriage they had already spent six years building.

Their full Publick House wedding story is now on the journal.

Hey there!

I’m going to go enjoy a Cape Cod summer for a little bit. I’ll be unplugged and out of office from June 27-July 5. My first day back to work is July 6, and I can’t wait to catch up inquiries and current clients then! This is a planned break, so all of my current editing commitments will still be honored 😊♥️

Whenever we go on a family vacation I always like to take an extended social media break. I’m grateful for the free marketing opportunities social media provides my business, but I’m also aware of the hidden costs of being on these platforms. When I take a break, I’m so much more present with my family and friends. My inner dialogue is quieter and kinder. And I actually find myself becoming much more creative when I’m not comparing myself each time I scroll.

So for all of those reasons, my account will be quiet until August.

I’m still working from July 6 onward, so please don’t hesitate to inquire, ask questions about upcoming bookings, or just say hi! You can always reach me through the contact form on my website or by email. All current clients are also welcome to text.

I can’t wait to share everything that happens in July with you all soon! Until then, see you later! XOXO, Gossip Girl. Just kidding 😂 Christine

Some sessions stay with you long after they’re over.

There was a family I photographed once, and everyone understood the weight of that season.

No one needed to say it out loud. It was just there, woven into the way they held each other a little closer, the way they didn’t rush anything.

They weren’t trying to create something perfect. Instead, they just wanted to be together and remember what that felt like.

I’ve thought about them often since then, and it changed the way I see what I do.

Photos aren’t just about what’s happening in front of you. They’re about what you’ll hold onto later, when things have shifted and time has moved forward like it always does.

Being trusted with that kind of moment is something I don’t take lightly. I know your moments are precious, and I want to help you live into them again and again in the future.

A belated anniversary post 🥺

We’re having a great year overall, but the past week and a half have been super trying. Dillon is just now starting to feel better after over a week of illness. After a little urgent care/ER scare where one provider thought he was showing signs of meningitis, he was diagnosed with Lyme. We’re hoping and praying for a full recovery, but really, only time will tell how things go.

On our actual anniversary, I celebrated at a baby shower for one of Dillon’s sisters and spent the night doing a sleep study for Redlen.

We’re hoping to celebrate more soon on our vacation. We’re heading to Martha’s Vineyard, which I was so excited about, but knowing how many tick troubles they have, I’m also a bit worried.

All of that to say, happy 11 years, Dillon Murphy! Life has been crazy, but I wouldn’t want to be going through it with anyone else. Thank you for choosing to show up as much as possible, even when you aren’t feeling well. ♥️

Katie and Arun kept telling me they were awkward in photos.

Meanwhile, they spent this entire session laughing together, holding onto each other naturally, and absolutely proving themselves wrong! Which honestly happens more often than not.

Most couples are not walking into their engagement session with modeling experience. They just deeply care about preserving this season of life well. That was exactly these two.

We wandered through the Boston Public Garden, Commonwealth Ave, and Beacon Hill right before the rain rolled in. Soft spring blossoms, classic brownstones, cloudy skies, and the sweetest couple who cared far more about being present together than performing for the camera.

My favorite part? Talking through their wedding day plans and hearing how much they value both photography AND fully experiencing the day with the people they love.

That balance will always matter to me.

Beautiful photos should support your wedding experience, not take you away from it.

Also, Boston in the spring really said, “you have exactly 90 dry minutes, use them wisely.” And somehow we pulled it off perfectly. 👏
