This is what happens when your wedding day refuses to follow the plan. There are wedding days where the weather cooperates beautifully. And then there was Kaity and Phil’s.

It poured. And poured. And, apparently feeling it hadn’t made its point strongly enough, poured some more.

But here’s what I remember most about their wedding: the rain never became the story.I remember Phil tearing up when he turned around and saw Kaity during their first look. I remember her sister surprising her with matching pinky rings while she was getting ready. And how about a room full of people gathered close while Kaity and Phil finally became husband and wife?

And I remember that once the ceremony was over, there was nowhere else they needed to be. We’d already photographed their portraits, wedding party and family earlier in the day. They could grab a drink, hug the people who came to celebrate them, eat dinner and dance.

They cared about beautiful photographs. Very much.
But they just cared more about actually experiencing the wedding those photographs were meant to preserve.

And I think that’s why this rainy July wedding feels so joyful when I look back through it.The forecast changed almost everything about the plan.

It didn’t change anything that mattered. I’m so honored that these two allowed me to capture their memories. 🥺

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” 🍂

Apparently, I have entered my L.M. Montgomery era at exactly the right time.

I’ve been a little quieter on here these past few weeks. September was full, both with work and life at home.

We’ve officially reached the final stretch of my busiest season. I still have plenty happening this month, but I can finally see some slower days coming. And I’m pretty ready for them. 😂

September also included seeing the Jonas Brothers again. My loyalty to Joe has survived another year, as we all knew it would. It was a little awkward for both of my husbands to be in the same room at the same time, but we all made it through 😂😜

I’ve also been reading a ridiculous amount of L.M. Montgomery lately. I started with Anne, kept going, and recently just wrapped up the Emily series. And now I need someone else to read these books with me.

I clearly have a type when fall arrives. Give me a book, tea, and an evening at home, and I’m very happy. For now, though, I still get to spend quite a few October days doing this. 🤍

I’m tired after a very full season, but mostly I’m grateful. I’ve gotten to work with some wonderful people this year, and I’m excited about the couples already joining me for 2027.

I’m also looking forward to everything October brings outside of work! This really is one of my favorite months of the year. While weddings, engagements, and proposals are my main focus, I love a good maternity session, especially when the hydrangeas and the ocean do their thing!

For my wedding and engagement clients, I absolutely love being able to tell the next part of your story. I also take on a handful of additional couples maternity sessions depending on availability.

Ashley and Michael traveled out of state for these photos, and they were worth the drive! We split their session between Chatham Bars Inn and Chatham Light, and it was one of my favorite combos ever! Cape Cod is way too good to me 🥺

One day, you’re promising forever. And then somehow, a few years later, forever looks like this. 🤍

I’ve had the absolute joy of photographing Kailyn through so many chapters of her life—from senior portraits to her engagement to marrying Brent, anniversary photos, and now preparing to welcome their first baby.

And I think this might be one of my favorite things about photographs: they let us see the story growing right in front of us.

Their wedding photos captured the beginning of their marriage and the family they were creating together. These Boston Public Garden maternity photos capture that family getting ready to grow by one very loved little person.

Someday, their baby will be able to look through these photographs and see it all: Mom and Dad on their wedding day, completely in love. Mom and Dad waiting for them, still completely in love. 🥹

The wedding album was never the end of the story. It was just the first volume on the shelf.

And getting invited back to photograph what comes next? I will never, ever take that for granted. 🤍

Summer has been full around here, in the very best ways.

We celebrated the end of the school year and soaked up family time. We spent a week on Martha’s Vineyard and ate far too many Back Door Donuts. I photographed some truly lovely summer weddings and sessions. And somewhere in there, we’ve been trying to enjoy our own New England summer, too.

I’ve also been sharing more personal updates on my blog each month. They’re a mix of family life, things I’m loving, recent work, and whatever else has been happening around here.

Cape Cod has always been home for Taylor.

Her family has spent summers here for years, and when it came time to plan their wedding, there wasn’t much debate. She wanted to invite the people they love most to experience the place that had shaped so many of her favorite memories.

For Griffin, it became a chance to welcome both families into a place that now feels like home for them, too.

Every part of their Wychmere Beach Club wedding reflected that heart. A beach ceremony overlooking Nantucket Sound. Hand-painted oyster shells made by Taylor’s mom. A reception filled with lush hydrangeas, fresh seafood, and one of the happiest dance floors I’ve photographed all year.

What I’ll remember most, though, isn’t a single detail.

It’s the way Taylor and Griffin celebrated their marriage by caring so well for everyone around them. Every choice pointed back to the people they love, and that made the day feel just as beautiful as it looked.

Hey there!

I’m going to go enjoy a Cape Cod summer for a little bit. I’ll be unplugged and out of office from June 27-July 5. My first day back to work is July 6, and I can’t wait to catch up inquiries and current clients then! This is a planned break, so all of my current editing commitments will still be honored 😊♥️

Whenever we go on a family vacation I always like to take an extended social media break. I’m grateful for the free marketing opportunities social media provides my business, but I’m also aware of the hidden costs of being on these platforms. When I take a break, I’m so much more present with my family and friends. My inner dialogue is quieter and kinder. And I actually find myself becoming much more creative when I’m not comparing myself each time I scroll.

So for all of those reasons, my account will be quiet until August.

Some sessions stay with you long after they’re over.

There was a family I photographed once, and everyone understood the weight of that season.

No one needed to say it out loud. It was just there, woven into the way they held each other a little closer, the way they didn’t rush anything.

They weren’t trying to create something perfect. Instead, they just wanted to be together and remember what that felt like.

I’ve thought about them often since then, and it changed the way I see what I do.

Photos aren’t just about what’s happening in front of you. They’re about what you’ll hold onto later, when things have shifted and time has moved forward like it always does.

Being trusted with that kind of moment is something I don’t take lightly. I know your moments are precious, and I want to help you live into them again and again in the future.
