The Massachusetts College of Art & Design Photography Program teaches photography as fine art with an emphasis on personal vision, experimentation, and an understanding of the history of photography and the body of criticism that surrounds it. Students are introduced to a wide array of both film-based and digital tools; they become well-versed in the medium's technical and aesthetic traditions whi

le exploring contemporary directions through slide lectures and critiques. Our curriculum covers both analog and digital production and offers a wide variety of elective courses providing a strong foundation for critical thinking, collaboration, and a career in photographic arts.

Giving Tuesday is coming up on Tuesday, December 3rd and our department is participating. Please support public arts education!
Any amount helps — no matter how small. A donation makes a difference in the lives of current MassArt photography students.

Every Department has its own "team" page on the MassArt Giving Tuesday website. Find the Photography department's team page is here: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/MASSARTGT/team/Photography

How it works:
When 300 donors make a gift (of any amount, to any area of the college) as a part of MassArt they will unlock over $10,000 of bonus funds for MassArt from a group of community leaders. On Giving Tuesday, we encourage our community to give to any department, center or program that is meaningful to you. On the giving form, you will see the drop down menu where donors can select an area to support.

If you, as a donor, do not select an allocation, it will be designated to the "area of greatest need" which supports student scholarships and urgent needs.

For example, if you as a donor selects "photography," any amount raised would then be able to be transfered directly into the photography department's operating budget and be used to help students with supplies.
