Pink lotus flowers float in the pots at the top of The Gold Mount (or Wat Saket in Thai.) This temple is accessed via 344 steps circling the building and decorated with mystical waterfalls, carvings, bells, and gongs. Those wishing to worship at the top make a meditative journey with audio narration in loudspeakers, which I assume lead attendees through teachings. More pictures to come from this incredible journey, now at an end. All things come and go in their own time.

Beautiful, bright flowers like these accent Vietnam’s waterways, roadways, and walkways. I will miss these cheerful bursts of color! They were a comforting greeting after willingly walking through traffic to cross the street pretending like your heart’s not racing and especially calming when set in front of a mangrove forest river.

What I’ve learned from the mangroves
(1) it’s okay to show off your roots
(2) be thirsty
(3) stand tall; shoot past the weight of gravity.

I don’t always shoot in black and white but when I do, I make sure sunlight filters through brilliantly

Travel ignites passion. Coming to Panama, I hated pineapple - sickly sweet, with a leftover sour taste and unappetizingly chewy and stringy texture. Scheduled for a tour of a pineapple farm, I wasn’t looking forward to eating any. But if a Panamanian chops up a pineapple with a machete and offers you a slice, you take it. With one juicy bite, my prejudice ended - not sickly sweet but bursting with juice and and floral citrus flavor that left no sour taste and melted in my mouth. When they asked if we wanted more, we all said, sí, por favor! It’s up to the traveler to challenge their own points of view - try something new, or re-try something you don’t like. The world is full of riches for those willing to find them.

Look at this happy bumblebee! Even if you think it’s all hype, why not have a lovely garden to look at from spring to fall? This fella is way too heavy to chase you - he’s got eyes only for that sweet sweet nectar and pollen.
