Kate on the job documenting a “city that never sleeps”, Mass General Hospital, during a massive New England Nor’Easter.
While most people get to hunker down in a blizzard, hospitals and their dedicated staff show up, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

"It feels like your bones are being crushed. It's just excruciating pain, everywhere."
Allan Byamukama has lived with the pain of sickle cell disease for 34 years. He graciously allowed me to be in the room as he became one of the first in the world to receive Casgevy, a groundbreaking gene therapy for the disease, at MassGeneral. His positivity is inspiring. And I continue to be awed at the care the staff provides, and what can be gained when research is championed.
