"Can I pet that dog?"

No. But you can view them in the wild! Botswana is home to roughly 30% of the world's remaining African wild dogs, and the Delta is one of the best places on the planet to actually see them.

They're not the dogs you'd come across in your neighbors backyard. These ones are built to run for miles, hunt in packs, and outlast just about everything that tries to catch them.

Not all guided safaris are created equal.

This one starts in the Kalahari, where we'll spend two nights. Look forward to time with habituated meerkats and members of the San community, who've called this desert home for longer than most countries have existed.

The next stop on the tour takes us to The Northern Delta and the wildlife-rich floodplains. Imagine yourself in a photographic hide, eye level with elephants and antelopes as they come in to drink.

Then a helicopter ride over the Okavango Delta. This is a landscape you need to see from above to actually believe.

I still have a few spots on my Serengeti & Beyond safari this October. It's a small-group safari to northern Tanzania - we go to the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire. Small camps, private vehicles, and a relaxed pace. It's a perfect safari and October is a great time of year there.
