“Why do you modernize recipes at Taphophile Twins?”

No reason.

Miss Emily Dunbar was the daughter of Asaph and Nancy Dunbar. Her monument was found in the woods behind Mount Zion last year. The original location is included in the cemetery records and its base was leaning against a nearby crypt. I worked with the DPW and got the larger part put back in place. She also has a cenotaph at Colebrook with her family.

To fully reconnect her monument, we had to place the top section and let the concrete harden with supports intact, cover that in crushed white marble, let the sealant cure, add two more layers and let those cure, and today the last layer was added. Some finish work is still needed but she’s come so far from her broken home in the woods and we’re pretty happy with it. This has taken three months. Woof.

The thing that can be hard about restoration work is that it isn’t always completed in a single pass and people yap about that when they can’t see that the work isn’t finished. I have a few others that aren’t yet complete and yeah, they’re hard to look at but you don’t want to seal off the inside too early or the stone will collapse.

Do you have restoration work that needs to be done? Send us a photograph. We’re happy to consult or talk about a site visit.
