Yesterday, I photographed Liz & TJ’s wedding, and somewhere between the happy tears, the laughter, the wagging tails, and the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed, I found a piece of myself again that I thought was forever gone.
For an incredibly long time, photography felt different. The joy that once came so naturally had become harder to reach, and somewhere along the way, I lost touch with the feeling that first made me fall in love with documenting people’s stories.
But yesterday reminded me.
It reminded me that love is still my favorite thing to witness. That there is something profoundly beautiful about preserving a moment that will never exist again. That being invited into one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life is a privilege I should never take for granted.
I haven’t shared a post on here in a little over a year, but these felt like the right images to return with. Not only because they celebrate Liz & TJ’s beautiful wedding day, but because they brought me back to the heart of why I do this work in the first place. They reminded me what it feels like to create from a place of gratitude, connection, and love.
Liz & TJ, thank you for trusting me with your story, from your engagement session two years ago to your wedding day. Thank you for believing in me, and thank you to your wonderful family, friends and pups for making me feel so welcomed every step of the way.
Some weddings leave you with beautiful photographs.
Yours left me with something more…
It gave me the feeling of finally returning back home. It gave me a gentle reminder of where I belong.
