Boston's Trinidad-Style Carnival Jouvert founder Andrae Modeste (10.17.47 -10.29.24) has passed. Andre and Althea founded Boston Trinidad-Style Jouvert several years ago; he initially created the Jouvert to create an avenue for Steelpan, Rhythm section, and other traditional Jouvert-type bands. He did not want any trucks carrying music, and to some degree, he was successful. As time passed, participation by several other Caribbean islands grew, such as Jamaica and Grenda.

Today, the Grenada Jab Jab band dominates the Jouvert. He also wanted to avoid any music tucks on the Jouvert route. RIP, Andre, and thank you for contributing to the Trinbago culture.
