Hear me out.
I dread photographing large events. I worry about falling ill right before , getting into a car accident on the way there, not finding parking in time, the list goes on.
Then there's the whole inner dialogue of "Do I make this picture of these people smiling at the camera because that's what a lot of event photographs look like or do I make this OTHER picture of a teen making a weird picture because that's what they do when their parent is making final touches of their hair, clothing, accessories. Or maybe I make this OTHER pictures of feet because this dance floor is so cool and those Nike's speak to a passion for baseball and the color blue?"
So when a client hires me for what they see in my work, and she says "Just do your thing," I'm free to turn off that inner dialogue and make images that speak to me. By the end of the night, I'm thinking "How soon can do this again?"
So, thank you, Zoe, for being a truly incredible kid. And thank you, Nicole , for trusting me to "just do my thing."
Gratitude , , , for creating a stunning space to work with.
