The parents, the best friend who’s been there through everything, the grandma in the corner who hasn’t stopped smiling. They’re all part of the day too — and some of the photos you’ll cry over hardest won’t even have you in them.

The Vineyard at High Holly in the fall might be one of my favorite things I’ve ever gotten to document.

Julie and Austin’s wedding had everything — morning nerves that melted the second they saw each other, and a couple who thought of every detail so their guests could actually enjoy themselves. Just one of those days that felt good from start to finish.

The Vineyard at High Holly has a ceremony setup that practically writes the scene for you — and then the sky opened up right as Julie walked down the aisle, and I don’t know how else to say it. It was just one of those moments.

I used to worry that my quiet nature was a weakness as a wedding photographer. I’ve never been the loudest person in the room or someone who wants attention on themselves—and for a long time, I thought that was something I needed to change.

That shifted when couples started telling me how much my presence mattered to them. How my energy brought a sense of calm they didn’t even realize they needed on their wedding day.

As I’ve grown in my craft, I’ve learned to let that quietness become my strength.
To observe without interrupting.
To see the day from different angles.
To step in only when it serves the moment—and step back when it matters most.

I don’t force moments or manufacture photos. I listen, I notice, and I document the day as it naturally unfolds.

This wedding day at Chimney Pond Farm is one of my favorites. The way the foggy rolled in over the mountains set a calm tone for the day and the sky cleared up in time for guests to arrive and celebrate Allison + Adam as they said, “I do!”
