Rain on an elopement day in Olympic National Park feels less like weather and more like stepping into another world.

The ancient rainforests here have existed for thousands of years, shaped by constant rainfall, coastal fog, and time itself. Some of the Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and Douglas fir trees in Olympic National Park are estimated to be several hundred years old, with fallen trees becoming “nurse logs” that create entirely new life on the forest floor. Every inch of the rainforest is part of a living cycle that has been unfolding long before any of us arrived here.

Olympic National Park protects one of the largest remaining temperate rainforests in the United States, a rare ecosystem that once stretched across huge portions of the Pacific Coast. Today, places like the Hoh and Quinault Rainforests feel almost prehistoric, with massive moss-covered trees, giant ferns, and layers upon layers of life thriving because of the constant rain.

There’s something incredibly grounding about exchanging vows in a place that has witnessed centuries of storms, growth, change, and resilience. The rain becomes part of the story. The fog softens everything. The forest quiets. And suddenly it feels like the world slows down enough for you to fully be there together.

Some of the most emotional elopement days we’ve ever documented have happened in the rain here. Lanterns glowing through the mist. Raindrops collecting on jackets and bouquets. Boots sinking into muddy trails while the forest smells like cedar and earth.

Olympic’s rainforest isn’t beautiful despite the rain. It exists because of it. And honestly, that’s what makes rainy elopement days here feel so magical.

Some elopement days are sunny and golden.

And some days feel like stepping into a rain-soaked fairytale.

Rain pouring through the rainforest. Mist hanging in the trees. Waves crashing against the beach while the clouds suddenly broke open for just long enough for Jamie and Kevin to thaw a little before heading to a rainy whimsical waterfall.

Yesterday in Olympic National Park felt unreal.

These two embraced every second of it. Completely soaked, laughing the entire day, and fully present with each other through all of it. The rain didn’t take away from the experience at all. If anything, it made everything feel even more emotional, cinematic, and alive.

There’s something really special about days like this. The kind where nature completely takes over and you stop trying to control the experience and just lean into it together.

Olympic National Park really showed off yesterday. ❤️

The day he proposed, they saw a bear in the mountains.

So when they started planning their elopement, they had one very important request for us: bring an inflatable bear suit to the top of a mountain so we could recreate the moment 😭🐻

And honestly? We were immediately all in.

One of our favorite things about elopements is that there are no rules. Your day can be emotional, adventurous, meaningful, completely ridiculous, and somehow still incredibly beautiful all at the same time.

Watching these two laugh their way around a mountaintop with a giant inflatable bear at sunset is a memory we genuinely don’t think we’ll ever forget.

This is your reminder that your wedding day does not have to look like anyone else’s to be perfect.

From a tuxedo-wearing dog named Chip to a beautiful sunset with Mt. Rainier, Jacki & Tom’s elopement day could not have been more incredible.

We started the day at their riverside cabin where we got to meet their dog, Chip, who fully understood the assignment! Tiny tuxedo on, tail wagging nonstop, and absolutely thrilled to be included in this part of the adventure. We’re pretty sure he thought the entire day was planned just for him. As it should be!

From there we headed into Mt. Rainier National Park where Jacki’s cousin, Nick, officiated such a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony surrounded by the mountains and forest. It felt intimate, emotional, and completely true to who they are.

Afterward, we spent the evening exploring the snow at Rainier, soaking in the mountain views, and chasing the most beautiful sunset to end the day. Watching the alpenglow hit the mountain while these two laughed together in the snow felt like something out of a dream.

Jacki & Tom, thank you for trusting us with such an incredible day. We loved every second of it. 🤍

Amanda and Ben spent the morning tucked away in the sweetest lakeside cottage in Olympic National Park surrounded by towering evergreens and impossibly blue water. Their first look happened out on the dock with the mountains reflecting across the lake, and honestly it already felt unreal before the hiking adventure had even started.

At one point, a male and female deuck waddled over and hung around so long we’re pretty sure they were trying to join Amanda and Ben on a double elopement date.

Then came the incredibly beautiful hike.

We started deep in the rainforest surrounded by moss-covered trees before climbing higher and higher through steep rope sections, scrambling over rocks, and eventually reaching one of our favorite ridgeline views. Standing up there overlooking the same lake where they had their first look earlier that day felt full-circle in the best possible way.

At the summit, Amanda and Ben said “I do” with Coleman officiating as clouds drifted around the mountains.

And somehow the day just kept getting better from there.

They brought beers from Barhop Brewing, cake from Aunt Selena’s Bakery, shared their first dance on the mountain to Brent Morgan’s cover of Still Into You, and then came one of the funniest moments we’ve ever documented.

Back when Ben proposed to Amanda, they were surprised by a bear.

So naturally, when Amanda’s best friend heard they were eloping on a mountain, she immediately mailed them an inflatable bear costume so they could recreate the moment.

Cue Vannessa climbing into an inflatable bear suit on top of a mountain while Coleman documented absolute chaos with both photo and video.

We laughed so hard we could barely breathe.

It was emotional, adventurous, hilarious, intentional, and completely them from beginning to end.

Amanda and Ben, thank you for trusting us with a day this unforgettable. We seriously cannot wait to share more from this one. Have so much fun on your hiking honeymoon!!

Some days just stick with you, and this was one of them!

Our very first time in Rocky Mountain National Park and we were completely in awe the entire day. The mountains felt endless, the rivers were rushing with snowmelt, and wildlife seemed to be around every corner.

Tyler and Kelly’s day started slow and intentional at their cabin, tucked right along the river. The night before, they had elk wandering just outside as snow fell around them, which already felt like something out of a movie. The next day, we met them there for getting ready and a quiet riverside first look that couldn’t have been more perfect.

From there, we made our way into the park with a few of their favorite people for a ceremony surrounded by those massive mountain views. Simple, meaningful, and fully centered on what mattered most.

Afterward, we wandered through snowy forest trails, finding gorgeous lakes, towering peaks and quiet pockets of stillness that made everything feel even more surreal.

And to end the day, they invited us to dinner with them. We got to witness them sign their marriage license, cut their cake, and share a toast surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. It was one of those full circle moments that reminded us why we love what we do so much.

Tyler and Kelly, thank you for trusting us with a day like this! We’ll be thinking about this one for a very long time.

What if your wedding day wasn’t about centerpieces or seating chart? What if it was about standing beside your best friend in a place that makes you feel alive?

What if your aisle was a trail lined with wildflowers?
What if your first dance was wrapped in alpine wind?
What if the only thing you had to focus on was each other?

Eloping isn’t “less.”
It’s more. More time, more intention, more adventure, more you.

For the couples who crave something quieter, deeper, and wildly more meaningful, trading a ballroom for a mountain might be the best decision you ever make.

If your heart just whispered “yes,” you’re our kind of people!
Let’s plan a day that looks nothing like a production and everything like your love.

Some days feel like they’re written just for you, and Irina and Keval’s November elopement in the North Cascades was one of those magic ones. Rain fell softly over the mountains all day long, but these two showed up with the best attitudes, the biggest smiles, and a whole lot of love. If joy could be bottled up, it would look exactly like this day.

With their closest family bundled up beside them and their two sweet pups trotting along, they shared their ceremony tucked into the quiet of the forest near a lake. The wind and rain swept through in true November fashion with umbrellas flipping inside out, jackets flapping, hair swirling. Yet everyone just laughed and leaned into it. It was intimate, emotional, and beautifully simple, made even more memorable by the wildness of the weather.

After hugs, laughter, and a few soggy-but-happy group photos, we said goodbye to their families and set off for their “just the two of us” adventure. And wow… the Cascades showed off. Rain makes this landscape feel alive, and together we explored fast-flowing rivers, misty waterfalls, alpine lakes wrapped in fog, towering evergreens, and moody mountain ridgelines that felt straight out of a dream.

They shared their first dance under the canopy of fir trees next to a stream. They splashed through puddles in their waterproof boots. They embraced every second of the wild November weather. And through it all, they kept smiling, kept laughing, and kept choosing joy, over and over again.

Irina and Keval, thank you for trusting us, for loving the rain as much as we do, and for reminding us that the most meaningful days aren’t about perfect conditions. They’re about perfect intention. Your elopement was pure magic from start to finish. We’re so grateful we got to be a part of it.

Here’s to every storm that turns into a memory you’ll talk about forever!
