Is Videography Necessary?
I began pursuing videography while I was planning my own wedding. Some of the biggest decisions for weddings are hair up or down, indoor or outdoor ceremony and reception, just a photographer, or also a videographer? I have been honored to document wedding days for so many different brides. Some brides booked me before they were even engaged, knowing that they wanted videography to be a vital part of their big day. Others booked me last minute not wanting to regret missing out on having a video to playback of the start of their forever. I will tell you that for the second type of bride... every single couple was 100% glad they booked a videographer.
So why should you hire a videographer? Watch your groom’s single tear run down his face as his eyes light up during your first look. Hear your vows, see your dad walk you down the aisle (after all, you won’t get to see any of the procession of the ceremony ahead of you, so if your flower girl and ring bearer do something cute this will be the only way to see them in action!), relive your wedding party’s speeches, watch everyone cut loose on that dance floor, and so much more. Your kids, and grandkids, even great grandkids will get to watch your first dance, and feel like they actually attended your wedding day. You really can’t put a price tag on that.
You spend time, energy, and money making sure the day goes well. You make sure your guests are happy, fed well, comfortable, and having a good time. The photos and videos are for you and your spouse. On those rainy days when you need a reminder of how loved you are, play your video. On anniversaries, relive your wedding day by playing your video. When people ask about your wedding who couldn’t make it that day, play your video. When you want to remember everyone who has your back, play your video. You will be so glad that you have these portals to look back on your wedding day, as it goes by faster than you can even imagine.
