As a community creator, people message me all the time asking “How did you make friends?” “How do you build community?” 💐
The answer is in showing up over and over again. We are all busy and overwhelmed with the weight of the world in our own ways.
While we can’t be everything for everyone, we can pour energy into others using what capacity and gifts we do have in the season we’re in.
There will be times in life when a friend, family member, or neighbor has nothing to “offer back.” It’s not tit for tat — it’s giving what you can when you can 🫶🏼
People are afraid to ask, so my advice is to just DO. Act in ways you wish others would for you. Lead the way.
There was a neighbor we had who walked down the street and pulled up EVERYONE’S trash bins after trash day. Gestures come in all forms.
So when people see something so cute and fun on my feed — like a surprise birthday party for a friend on a Wednesday morning — just know moms showed up in between work calls, in between clients, took PTO etc. just to be there 💓
The greatest things in life come with very worthy inconveniences. It’s really the point of life imo 🫶🏼
