My First/Last Image………………….My photographic journey began when I was in High School in the late 60’s when I would develop rolls of B&W film from my small Kodak Instamatic camera. I had a my garage darkroom and spent countless hours there. Later my awesome parents saw my passion and gifted me a Nikon F2 my senior year. Quite a step up! In the mid 70’s I got married and became a father and priorities changed, and eventually I stopped shooting. I did some family stuff here and there but until the advent of digital, I didn’t shoot anything thing of any real “creative” consequence. Then in 2007, after some early toe-dipping into digital, I bought a Nikon D300 and shot the very first night, this image What I’ve always considered my “re-entry” image. Now sadly it’s probably my last post. My body have been mostly wasted by a form of Muscular Dystrophy and getting around, even in my home, has become extremely difficult. Also my wife and I have recently made the decision that I should stop driving period. With that, my ability to get out and shoot is pretty much gone. I held this image, my first, to display here as what may be my last post. I hope not, but practically speaking, the writing is on the wall, and for the first time I’m even thinking about how much I could sell my gear for. It’s not the end of creative pursuit, I believe creativity is innate within us because we are the creation of the Ultimate Creator. It’s our DNA so to speak. So I’ll keep expressing, just not in this way I’ve loved for so long. Thanks for watching.
