There is something refreshing about photographing someone who cares as much about the result as you do and Dr. Beth Haney of Eagle Aesthetics is just that person.

She was genuinely invested in how she would be represented in the magazine. She was curious about the lighting, thoughtful about what belonged in the frame, and attentive to every detail of the session. We worked through what the final look would be before we started the session.

I lit Beth very intentionally, and we worked through a couple of poses and expressions, and in the end we were both thrilled with the result. Confident, precise, and entirely her own.

At Eagle Aesthetics, you are the masterpiece. Spending some time with Dr. Haney, that philosophy felt completely genuine.

Dr. Haney appears in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines. If you're looking for aesthetic care delivered with precision and genuine expertise, Eagle Aesthetics is well worth a visit.

From the moment you step through the door of K-Counseling, something shifts. The lighting, the colors, the sounds — everything has been thoughtfully and intentionally arranged to set you at ease before you've exchanged a single word. It is a space that communicates care before anything else, and it reflects everything you need to know about its owner.

Lisa Schiro has built her practice around meeting her clients where they are and guiding them through life's most challenging moments. Among the many therapies she offers is what she calls the Zen Den — a multi-sensory experience that wraps around you with light, sound, and texture in ways that are as gentle as they are purposeful.

For the portrait, I was drawn to the hallway that leads to her patient rooms.

It wasn't the obvious choice, but it felt like the right one — the doors, the art, the quiet stretch of corridor all spoke to me of the path her clients walk toward healing.

Lisa's expression in that space said everything. The care and concern she holds for the people who come to her was simply there, unhurried and unmistakable.

Lisa and K-Counseling will soon be moving to a new and expanded space — stay tuned for that announcement. In the meantime, if you or someone you love could use a steady and caring hand through life's challenges, Lisa can help.

Riverstone International School carries its name honestly. With 300 students representing more than 41 countries and nationalities, the school's library is lined with flags from around the world — not as decoration, but as a genuine reflection of the community gathered within those walls.

It's a distinctive and striking space, and it had already served as the backdrop for a colleague's portrait the previous year.

I really didn't want to do the same view as the previous year, so we looked around the school for other location options.

Kathy Rowen, Riverstone's Marketing Director, was patient and collaborative as we explored the school together — her office, the front entrance, a remarkable piece of art made from glass or crystal with the names of the school's donors etched into its many facets.

Each location told part of the story, but none of them felt quite right for Kathy.

So I returned to the library and simply turned around.

A different angle, a counter to lean on, and an entirely fresh portrait emerged from a space I had already been in. Sometimes the answer isn't somewhere else — it's just a matter of changing your perspective.

Kathy appears in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines. If you're looking for an exceptional education with a genuinely global outlook, Riverstone International School is well worth a closer look.

Some portraits tell you everything about a person before a single word is spoken. Dr. Sarah Quilici, principal of Bishop Kelly High School, stands behind a desk that has anchored the school since its very beginning. The original principal's desk and it is likely the oldest piece of furniture in the building and is a quiet testament to the institution she now leads.

She didn't make a fuss about it. She simply stood behind it, hands on hips, and owned the room completely.

What I wasn't expecting was the board game.

In the middle of a quick tidy-up before the session, Dr. Quilici found herself wondering where to put it. We looked at each other and agreed — top of the bookcase.

It was whimsical, it was human, and it was exactly the kind of thing you'd hope to find in an educator's office. It stayed.

What struck me most about Dr. Quilici was the warmth she spoke about her students with. They were good kids, she said.

She is warm, and approachable. But spend five minutes with her and you also understand that Bishop Kelly is in very capable hands.

Dr. Quilici appears in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines. If you're considering Bishop Kelly for your family, this portrait might just tell you everything you need to know.

There is something quietly compelling about someone who has spent years in public service and then turns their energy toward something deeply personal and passion-driven.

Tammy DeWeerd, former Mayor of Meridian, has done exactly that. Together with her husband Jan, she runs Spoken Wines, a wine blog born from a genuine love of discovery and the stories that great wine tends to carry with it.

When I arrived, it was clear this was Tammy and Jan's world — thoughtfully curated, warm, and full of character.

We gathered a selection from their wine collection, bottles that represented some of their most memorable experiences, and let those tell part of the story.

The window light in their home was stunning, and I knew immediately I had to use it. Tammy by the window was beautiful — and when Jan joined her, something even better emerged. The two of them looking out together felt like exactly who they are — forward thinking, purposeful, and very much in this together.

Before I left, they pointed me toward one more chapter of their story. I'll leave that for you to discover. A book called "When we could not see the moon", a deeply personal story of faith and perserverence.

Tammy appears in the May edition of Meridian Lifestyle and Boise Lifestyle Magazine in a feature exploring life after public service. Visit Spoken Wines and step into their world — it's well worth your time.

When Boise and Meridian Lifestyle magazine originally planned Vicki Carly's portrait, the vision was a shot in front of the skating rink at Idaho Central Arena. There was just one small detail — the rink had been transformed into a basketball court for the Big Sky Conference Tournament, affectionately known as "Starch Madness."

I figured a championship playoff atmosphere was at least as good a backdrop. Maybe better.

The Grove Hotel sits right in the heart of it all, and the energy was unmistakable. Satellite dishes surrounded the building, broadcast crews were everywhere, and the lobby was buzzing with the kind of controlled excitement that a major sporting event brings to a city. Vicki, who oversees sales and marketing for The Grove and several other prominent downtown hotels, had gathered her team for a group portrait — and what a team it was.

They carried the easy warmth of people who genuinely enjoy working together, and they were a joy to work with from start to finish. We found a spot in front of the fireplace, negotiated our way into it amid the activity, and created something that felt both polished and alive.

I had planned to get Vicki up into the arena for a portrait with the playoff floor as her backdrop — I just hadn't anticipated how it would come together.

Her team understood the vision immediately and took us straight to one of the private arena booths.

What I had imagined as a shot from the high bleachers became something far more striking.

Sometimes the people you're working with elevate your vision beyond what you imagined.

Vicki appears in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines. If you're planning a visit to downtown Boise, The Grove is where you want to be.

Kathy Humphries of Pi Baby met us at her Meridian store with something she was clearly excited to share, a brand new expanded showroom that most of her customers don't even know about yet.

Walking into that space, it's easy to understand her excitement.

It's a large, beautifully appointed room filled with baby furniture and décor of all kinds, and the expansion has allowed Kathy to bring in the larger pieces that her smaller storefronts simply couldn't accommodate.

Finding the right backdrop in a space that generous takes a thoughtful eye. Our first priority was telling the story of what Pi Baby is and the crib and dresser in the background do exactly that. A pair of art pieces on the wall helped narrow the frame, and what was a practical decision that makes a portrait feel like it was always meant to be exactly that way.

Kathy appears in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines. If you haven't discovered Pi Baby's expanded Meridian showroom yet, you're in for a wonderful surprise.

There are stores you walk into and immediately know that everything on display is a direct reflection of the person who built it. The Crazy Neighbor on Grove Street in Boise is exactly that kind of place. Every corner reveals something unexpected.

Hats, masks, wigs jewelry, blankets, headpieces, and more. It is a carefully curated celebration of the whimsical and the wonderful that could only exist because of Star Moxley's singular artistic vision.

When I asked Star where she felt most at home in the store, she really was proud of the hat section. And she was right. In a space full of beautifully creative energy, the hat section has a cohesion and elegance that made for a perfect backdrop. It was Star's eye that chose it, which felt entirely fitting.

Meeting Cinda Robbins, the store manager, for the first time during this session was its own delight. She knows the store, understands its spirit, and is very much cut from the same wonderfully creative cloth as Star.

Star and Cinda appear in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines. If you haven't wandered through The Crazy Neighbor yet, do yourself a favor.

It's unlike anything else in Boise.

Walking into The Tile House in Garden City tells you a lot about owner Georgia Stokes.

Her creativity and sense of style are woven into every corner of the space, and it's easy to see how her clients benefit from working with someone who thinks so carefully about the details.

What I didn't expect was how naturally that same sensibility would shape our session together. As we worked through the portrait, we were both paying attention to a lot of details that would ultimately matter to this image.

The way the tiles were arranged, the selection of pieces in the background, right down to the insulated sleeve on her coffee cup.

Every detail mattered, and Georgia knew it as instinctively as I did. What began as a portrait session became a genuine collaboration between two people who simply refused to overlook anything.

The result was a wonderful portrait of Georgia in her creative space.

Georgia appears in the May editions of both Boise Lifestyle and Meridian Lifestyle Magazines.

If you're looking for someone who brings that same level of care and artistry to your space, The Tile House is worth checking out..
