I was reading an article the other day with this statement from Richard A. Hunter about his father Howard W. Hunter:

“I have come to believe that men and women are measured by what they value and by what they are willing to do about those values.”

What do you value? What do I truly *value* in the highest regard?

Put first things first and God will take care of the rest. He always does.

What am I willing to do about my values? What am I willing to sacrifice? Where am I willing to have faith and let go?



On the business side:

The first step to fulfillment in both life and fulfillment in business always has to begin with deep self searching: What do I truly value?

After what we value is established, it is only then we can figure out where we want to go.

"God left a world unfinished for man to work his skill upon. He left the electricity still in the cloud, the oil still in the earth. He left the rivers unbridged and the forests unfelled and the cities unbuilt. God gave to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of finished things. He left the problems unsolved and the pictures unpainted and the music unsung that man might know the joys and glories of creation. God created the quarries, but he carves the statues only by the hand of man"

Isn't this beautiful. God left us raw materials so that we too could create.

It's interesting how we are so driven with passion as humans to create. To participate in that which God does. To make something from our nothing. To morph and mold and derive into something novel.

Woodwork. A delicious food. An organized closet system. A photograph.

We gain fulfillment from these acts and I see now we should thank God He left some of the creating as opportunities for us.
