Wow I just am so blessed with the best job a girl could ask for. I get to show up for people on one of the biggest days of their lives and somehow call it work. This Bainbridge Island wedding was one of those days that reminded me how lucky I am to be doing this full time.
I took the ferry over the night before and it was the most classic Seattle welcome. Fog, salty air, rain on the water, and that soft PNW quiet that makes you breathe a little deeper. I remember thinking how grateful I was to be out there doing what I love. By the next morning the skies cleared completely, and it felt like the whole day opened up for them.
Then we got to the ceremony spot and saw the apple tree behind them had split in half overnight. Nobody expected that, but it made everything feel even more real and grounded. Just one of those moments that reminds you the PNW has its own way of showing up and adding to the story. I felt so grateful to witness it.
The rest of the day at Heyday Farm was pure joy. Handwritten vows, good food, people laughing nonstop, wine glasses clinking, and everyone staying under the string lights long after sunset because nobody wanted the night to end. I kept catching myself feeling thankful that I get to be in these spaces with people who love each other this much.
If you’re planning a Seattle or Bainbridge Island wedding and want a day that feels relaxed, natural, and packed with heart, I’d love to document it for you. This job is such a gift, and sharing days like this with couples is something I’ll never take for granted.
