The New Orleans battlefield site was such an amazing place to see and walk around. It was rainy and windy, so we pretty much had the grounds to ourselves. The history lover in both Walter and I loved it. An actual battlefield of history in our country. It was amazing to see in person.

I recently lost a friendship that I've had since I've been 13. It hurts, since it was about picking my family, my peace of mind, people who are genuine and true.I kept reaching out to this person over the last year. Nothing in return. Losing my Daddy was used against me, not putting them in my wedding, and my job, my family. In our last conversation. The reasons cut deep from this person. Who has seen the best and the hardest days of my own life. Gaslighting people, and tearing down someone isn't how you treat lifelong friends.Thankfully I have many reminds of how beautiful life can be when you choose certain things. Like my succulents in my front yard. Give me beautiful peace of mind

As a military brat growing up, and now a military spouse. I've always loved history, especially our country's own history. At one point in my life, I wanted to be a history and political science teacher. We got the amazing chance to see it beautiful honored at the WW2 museum and two ships USS Alabama and USS Drum. When we took our trip to New Orleans.
It was like stepping back into time, in real life.
We don't know them all, but we honor them all. Memorial Day is always a good example of that quote, in my mind and in my heart. Who came before us and those now, and in the future. Who we remember this day for

As a photographer you're always chasing light. We either have too much or not enough light. Seems fitting for a life lesson, always chasing something a job, your kids, a dream. But a simple photo reminds us of those moments. This one reminds me, chase the light and the dark shadows will disappear.
