I’ve been going to Port Aransas my whole life and never knew this little chapel was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood.

Sometimes you go on vacation and forget to take your camera.
I know. I know. 🤦🏼‍♂️.
But as the saying goes: The best camera is the one you have on hand.

The light was playing cat and mouse on this day at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. The rain clouds kept rolling right over the sun seemingly every time I set up for a shot, so there was a lot of waiting around for the sun to peek back out.

Had some 4x5 developed after years sitting on the shelf. I shot several images before Covid and when my local darkroom changed operations I no longer had a spot to develop my own film. So the sheets sat on the shelf until recently when I finally got around the dropping them off at Precision Camera in Austin.
I’m not great at film scanning because I used to develop and print all of my own film at the SW School of Art in San Antonio for years. I got spoiled like that. But I’m slowly figuring things out.
I liked this scan I got from an image shot near Antonito, Colorado.

Just a simple photo from out in the Intercoastal Waterway of Rockport, Texas. I was out in an old pontoon boat with family to spread the ashes of deceased family members and spent a few hours anchored to the side, chatting with family I hadn’t seen in years, and watching the bay boats speed by.
I haven’t been shooting much at all the last few years so I’m trying to get the eye back, to figure out what gear setup suits me best moving forward, and whether I’m setup to continue shooting film or if I should just move fully digital.
Definitely haven’t felt like a photographer for the last several years. Trying to get that feeling back.

Black Rose in Cut Glass
Shot this on New55 film some years back. It was an experimental release of what Polaroid used to make with their 55 films, and it was quirky to say the least.
With film photography seemingly having a resurgence and other equipment makers reverse engineering their old cameras back into existence, like the Wideluxx panoramic camera, it would be a welcome announcement that Polaroid was re releasing its legendary 55 films packs. Fingers crossed🤞 #
