Welcome to Southern Shutter Photography where we are thrilled to create lasting memories your family will cherish for generations. Marisa is a NYC native with a love for details. For 15 years Marisa owned and operated Sugar Coated Bakery in Brooklyn, NY specializing in decorative desserts. After her 2 children were born she decided to start another adventure and dive into her love for photography.

Marisa is certified & professionally trained as a newborn photographer gaining experience working in NYC hospitals. In 2025 Marisa & her family relocated to Bluffton, South Carolina. They are loving the low country lifestyle & making great memories along the way. Southern Shutter offers in home photography services as well as outdoor sessions.
