⚠️ A message to photographers (and anyone taking photos): stay off the train tracks.
This weekend I was photographing in a popular area when I saw another photographer with a family of seven posing on active train tracks. When a train whistle blew, the photographer just laughed and had the family step off of the tracks. These were very active tracks. In the hour I was there, at least four trains came through.
It was terrifying — and infuriating.
As photographers, we have a responsibility to know better.
🚂Train tracks are private property — taking photos there is trespassing and illegal.
🚫 More importantly, it’s dangerous. People lose their lives every year doing this.
🐵Monkey See, Monkey Do. Even if you are using tracks that aren't active or are decorative, others will see your photos and get the idea to take photos on live tracks. Set a good example.
