Each milestone and relationship of mine helps shine a distinct light of perspective through my work.
Being a wife, friend, sister, daughter, and mother. Having those relationships helps me capture yours with more accuracy and meaning.
I don’t have a sister but since finding out we were having our second daughter, I found myself watching sisters interact everywhere we went. Before witnessing my daughters’ beautiful relationship bloom, I wouldn’t have known that specific bond nearly as well.
The relationships I haven’t experienced, I’ve spent years observing to better understand. Anthropology classes in college were some of my favorites because even between cultures these dynamics vary. Learning about the perspective of others is SO important to me.
The thing I love most about photography is that it’s a channel from my inner workings. It’s a lot more than just pointing a camera and hitting a button. I’m witnessing the layers of relationships and capturing them.
