This is not a post for sympathy. It is a post for awareness.
I am still in the process of finding the words that feel best to represent what I want to say. These are simply placeholders.
I am behind on responding to comments, messages, and texts. I truly am sorry if it feels disrespectful. I will get back to you - just on a different timeline than we'd both prefer.
All photos will still be delivered at their contracted time.
All commitments previously made (including sessions and meetings) will be honored.
Beyond that, I ask for spaciousness and non-judgment as I extend the same to you.
Whether we choose to be conscious of it or not, we are living in a time of liminality: a time where old structures (and thus, realities) are breaking down and new ones struggle to be conceptualized and constructed.
We harmed ourselves - people of color, indigenous, women, and so many - for so long. We have reached a point of awareness, a tipping point, that comes on top of centuries of ignorance.
We are also pretending our way through a "normal" we tried to return to after a global pandemic, the consequences of which we continue to try to ignore. We have a global leader giving voice and power to hatred and misogyny and emotions running rampant and equally being suppressed as we try to do what needs to be done to pay the bills even though little makes sense anymore.
So, yes. I'm changing, you are changing, the world is erupting in change that demands our attention.
Spaciousness from "normality", from "to-dos" and "shoulds" is not only asked for, it is required.
Thank you.
