Peyton + Mason’s Maternity Session in Bloomington, Illinois

One of my favorite things about maternity sessions is getting to document such an exciting season of life. There is so much anticipation, excitement, and love as you prepare to welcome your little one, and it is a chapter that deserves to be remembered.

For Peyton and Mason’s maternity session, we met in a beautiful field in Bloomington, Illinois. Between the tall grasses and the soft evening light, it was the perfect setting for their photos. Sometimes the simplest locations create the most beautiful images.

What I loved most about this session was getting to see the excitement these two have as they prepare to become parents. There were plenty of smiles, sweet moments together, and conversations about all that is to come. Those are the moments I love capturing most. The genuine interactions that tell your story and reflect this season of life exactly as it is.

Spring Sessions in Central, IL

Why Your Kids Don’t Need to Sit Still for Beautiful Family Photos

𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜 𝗪𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁…

One of the best parts of Christmas Mini Sessions is getting to witness real, unplanned moments. During a recent session, a little girl walked in, spotted Santa’s cookies, and the look on her face said everything. Pure excitement. Totally genuine. A moment you can’t recreate.

This is why family photos matter. It’s not just about getting everyone to smile at the camera, it’s about capturing the small moments that tell the real story. The anticipation, the connection, the feeling of being together in that season of life.

Capturing the Magic of Your Little Ones

Let’s be honest, photographing little ones can feel a little chaotic sometimes. But here’s the truth… it doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful.

When I photograph children, my goal isn’t just to get the perfect smile, it’s to capture them. Their little personalities. Their giggles, their serious faces, the way they hold their favorite stuffy, or how they suddenly decide running in circles is the best thing ever.

Those are the moments that matter most.

Because one day, when you look back at these photos, you’ll remember exactly who they were at that stage, their tiny expressions, the sound of their laugh, the way they reached for your hand. These are the kinds of photos that instantly bring back memories and make you smile (and maybe tear up a little, too).

So mama, take a deep breath. Let your little one be little. Don’t worry about the mess or the movement, that’s the magic. When you look back on your gallery, you’ll see your baby just as you remember them.
