I've always thought seamless paper would restrict me. But I wanted to face my fears 😯 So I called in a super amazing past client to help 😘. This shoot was inspired by and the idea of simple body movements creating feeling through the image. And when I asked .jenkins99 to bring some Tate inspired fits, she absolutely nailed it with not only this look but all three that she brought.

Shooting at .roe_studio has been really really fun this last year. And one of my goals with creating my own studio was to be able to manipulate the space with minimal effort to produce new results with every shoot. Between blackout curtains, sheer curtains, different walls, and now seamless paper, it's gonna be fun seeing what else I can create.

Summer was full of shoots, a few shorter wedding days (which have been super super fun), technology malfunctions, family skateboarding, swimming, coffee dates, and editing catchup (which we're still in the middle of 😭). Posting has been minimal, inspo has been... maximal?

Heather and Hunter reached out only a few weeks before their wedding for some quick coverage - and I'm so happy I was able to capture some memories for them. It was a really perfect day. ❤

It’s weird that two out of three are in elementary school. Two of my kids are actively making memories of school that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

I remember being in kindergarten and crying because I didn’t finish an art project before recess and was worried I failed. I remember my mom Debbi Mashek reading to my class. I was so nervous to sit in front of everyone and have them look at me but was really really excited for my mom to be there.

I remember 2nd and 3rd grade, starting to have crushes and CONSTANTLY getting anxious about wearing the wrong clothes for the weather to school (would I be made fun of for wearing pants even though it was 80 by the time school was out?!?). I remember my Chicago Bulls Benny the Bull lunchbox and avoiding hot lunch at all costs.

I remember being so worried what others thought of me. I don’t know why. But I carried that through high school and college. I hope these kids don’t inherit my extreme anxiety and only remember going to the park with friends after school, the rush of speaking on the announcements for the whole school, and how excited they were to meet their teachers and new friends for the first time.

Here’s to a year of learning and failing and trying and thriving🥂

A little over 24 hours until I turn 37 and I’m determined to be able to push myself on a skateboard and not feel like a frail old lady.

Luckily I fit into my kids pads and helmet and got a quick lil lesson from Crib to Crib Skateboarding Co. the other day at the skate park.

Newborn photos at the studio 👌🏻What a perfect session this was. New parents, new baby, sunshine, and milk naps.

I say that these sessions are an hour, but we really go on baby’s schedule. So we stop when baby needs to eat, change, etc. Plus I’ll usually talk your ear off, ask you all the questions, and tell you all about my own 3 wild kids 🫣
