The best part about your wedding is that you can do literally whatever you want. You don't have to follow traditions, or do things just because you read it on a wedding blog somewhere.

- Rehearsal on wedding day, before guests arrive - do it! Just build it into your timeline. Plus you get some really cute non-stressful photos of your whole party laughing and chatting.

- Have your sisters, your mom, your neighbor walk you down the aisle. Or go solo....or don't walk down the aisle at all. It's your day, your decision.

- Invite kids, or don't invite kids - doesn't matter it's your choice!

Think about what matters most to you and do it.

Back to the basics. I’ve been shooting weddings with my two zoom lenses for a couple years now. Which I have really really loved the versatility of the 24-70. BUT I wanted to come back to my primes - my 35 and 85 combo.

A side perk that I didn’t realize was draining me was the decision fatigue that disappeared when switching back to primes. With my zoom I was constantly checking my focal length and adjusting it ALL DAY. My primes brought me back to the composition and relying on only these two focal lengths to achieve my shots.

I don’t loooovvvve the idea of wearing two swinging cameras all day again, so hoping my new will save me at the next wedding 🙏

Central Illinois has been my home for over 15 years now and photography has been a completely unexpected way that I've been connecting with and finding new businesses that help shape and bring good to the community. What started as strictly wedding photography has transformed into so many new friends, ideas, and goals.

I was lucky to have worked with Bloomington's own on this shoot for .counseling this winter. Micah organized such an intentional branding shoot day and executed all the elements flawlessly for this beautiful business in the Bloomington area. Hoping to get more chances to work alongside and create with more wonderful business owners this 2026 🤘
