End of 2024 Changes

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. I just wanted to make a quick post to announce some changes coming in 2025. 2024 has been a great year in my personal life. I got engaged in January, and married my lovely wife Maizy in November. My career as a contract specialist at NSWC Crane continues to be more and more demanding, and as a result, I will be scaling back my photography offerings moving forward.

First change is effective immediately, I will no longer have a website. It hadn't changed since I started it, and it no longer served any purpose other than to extract money from my bank account on a monthly basis. You can now contact me via email at [email protected], or message my personal page or text/call at 812-381-3810.

I am no longer offering newborn photography or weddings. Newborn photography was never my strong suit, and I simply do not have the time or energy to offer wedding coverage and be able to turn around delivery in a timely manner.

I will continue taking limited clients for primarily high school Seniors, sports portraits and banners (possibly posters), headshots and families. I will not be scheduling near as much in 2025 but I do greatly value all past customers so if you are interested in reaching out, please do and I will do my best to schedule you as quickly as possible.

My studio space is going to be getting a makeover at some point in 2025 or 2026 to make it more of a useable space for Maizy and myself. I will maintain space for headshots and sports banners, but larger groups will likely not work.

I am so thankful for all the support over the last 10 years or so. I am not ready to fully shut down, but my life and priorities have changed, and it's time to reflect that in my business offerings.

I had the great pleasure of being hired to photograph my old refereeing buddy Curtis and his beautiful bride Moriah's wedding, on June 8th, at a new to me venue, Trestle Valley Farm Wedding and Event Barn near the Tulip Trestle! I hadn't shot a full day wedding in nearly two years, and was a little nervous to commit to a long day, but I was able to kick the rust off pretty quickly!

The day threatened rain off and on, but turned out to be a beautiful overcast day with mild temperatures and only an occasional sprinkle. Moriah was absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown, her bridal party was fun and helpful all day long, and Curtis and the gentlemen cleaned up nicely in their denim and dress shirt! The little guys didn't fully cooperate, but also didn't cause a scene. I don't think you can ask much more from a three year old and a nine month old!

I'm so happy for you guys, and I very much appreciate you asking Maizy and I to help document your big day! From the wonderful popcorn bar, to the delicious grub from Fat Daddy's, and the great margaritas, it was a fun day and I wish you both and the boys nothing but the best!

This was a slightly bittersweet wedding for me, as it will be my last to photography, at least for the time being. I am simply unable to keep a respectful timeline delivering edits (and even a preview post, as it's nearly been a month already...) and with my Crane job and my own wedding coming up this Fall, I am forced to start giving some things up, and this is the first and most logical type of photography for me to step away from. It's been a very rough conclusion to 2023 for me and my family. In late October, my mother suffered a stroke and has been in and out of the hospital several times. This came towards the end of my busiest stretch of photography since I started working at Crane in the Fall of 2021.

I appreciate the patience all of my clients have had over the last two months. It has been a major struggle to find time to get galleries uploaded, orders fulfilled and sports banners and posters finished and ordered.

I created 5 sports posters for basketball this year for Washington Girl's Basketball, Barr-Reeve boy's basketball and Bloomfield's boy's and girl's programs. The 5th poster is one the Bloomfield boy's parents hired me to take including all 19 varsity and junior varsity players. I'm still finishing a banner for Eastern Greene's dance team.

I'm going to post all 5 completed posters in this post. Again, I appreciate everyone's patience, and I am pleased with how all 5 of these turned out. I have lost track of the number of photos of kids I have edited, extracted and laid out in these posters. It's an incredible time commitment, but I do love making them.

Some changes are going to be coming to my business in 2024. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to continue doing. I have been photographing folks since 2013 or 2014, and I'm not quite ready to hang it up, but I have to restore some balance to my life next year. I'll be posting some details on that when I have it sorted out.

Thank you all for the support and continued business. It's an honor documenting all the things I photograph, and not one I take lightly.

Today (or likely tomorrow) is going to be a very special day for the Arford's and Gilliland's, as my brother Jordan and his wife Alley are expecting their first child and heading the hospital for more of the waiting game!

Melynnie is over a week past due date, but I think she was waiting on me to get some time to edit her parents Maternity Session and get them posted in honor of her arrival! This session was held at my father Carl's farm in Odon, where Jordan and Alley have spent a ton of time over the last several years creating a goat farm with Alley's sister and my dad. It made for a special backdrop, and we tried to get some cute goat photos, but it turned to chaos quickly!

I can't wait to meet this sweet little girl, and I am so proud of Alley and Jordan for the home they have created and the great parents I know they will be!

I'm happy to present my 2023-2024 Bloomfield Soccer Senior Banners! The soccer program has been a welcome additional to the Fall sports lineups at Bloomfield. I am looking forward to finally getting to a game this season and watching the boys compete for their 1st Sectional title in October! Best of luck the rest of the season!

Final sports banner post of the day is for the remainder of the Eastern Greene Fall sports I made for Cross Country and the inaugural Soccer team! The Thunderbird Cross Country program has consistently been one of the best in the area for years, I wish them similar success this Fall. I am also very excited that Greene County has another soccer program, and can't wait to check out the new field and team!

I am now booking high school Seniors all summer and Fall long for the Class of 2024!

Seniors are my favorite thing to photograph, and I offer outdoor sessions at suggested locations or any location of your choosing. I also offer a variety of backdrops and lighting styles in my studio.

Session fees start at $150 for 1 session, and I offer multiple sessions that are best for Seniors that might want an indoor and outdoor sessions and possibly sports related sessions in the gym or field.

I offer products ranging from digital images with printing permissions, standard prints, metal and canvas prints, invitations and keepsake albums. I do have limited time available due to my other job, but have capacity to work with around 15 or so Seniors. I have plans made with four Seniors, so that leaves around a dozen more I am looking to work with.

Pop up mini session alert! I know I have not been very active on this page since I started a job at Crane in 2021, and I haven't had a mini session in ages...but I'm hosting a pop up, 1 week only 4th of July Mini Session starting next week!

This is geared for younger kids, with my old radio flyer wagon from my grandparents house when I was a child, flags, some fireworks decorations, bomb popsicles and watermelon! A great taste of summer and celebrating the birthday of our nation!

These will be in the backyard of my studio, and I am posting some example photos with two of the cutest little guys I know!

One year can be many things. It can feel like an eternity. It can fly by so quickly you barely realized it happened. It can also completely alter your way of life.

For the O'Neall family, it was more of the last two. Niall was born a year ago today, and today he stopped by the studio on his birthday to strut his stuff!

Happy Birthday to this tongue waggin', Nike wearin', nose scrunching future basketball star! It was so much fun hanging out with the birthday boy today and I can't wait to see what changes the next year brings for Niall, Ryan and Daley!
