Tonight’s second round of fall minis may have been cancelled, but instead, I'm going to take you back to something that left my heart so incredibly happy and full. 🤍🇺🇸
Back in September, I had the sweetest time bringing Made in America Minis to life. The old-school Americana details, the families, the little moments… it was everything I had envisioned and more.
And the best part? They’re coming back! 🇺🇸
Made in America Minis will be making their second debut next May/June, and I truly cannot wait. Finding more nostalgia to incorporate into next year is already in swing!
And here's another nod to so many who helped me in various ways with this set. My Husband's muscle and hustle. Clarisa my brain, editor, you just know how to fill in my every hope and thought! Aunt Krista - you always have something I need, thank you truly. My mother in law, Lois for allowing me to prune her mini hydrangea tree all summer for free. And my own mom for letting me use a very sacred quilt.
What started as a way to commemorate America turning 250 years old this year, became much more special and personal. Clarisa, I know how much putting together this set meant to you. She served in the Army National Guard up until she began her own family. My brother Mike served 4 years in the US Navy. He took after many more military family members before him. I was in 6th grade when he joined the service. I hardly understood what his deployment involved, yet I talked about him all of the time, he was my absolute hero. As an adult, I’m learning what that looked like for him. I will always have a flag somewhere in my home, and it isn't just our country I think of when I see it, it's the people, it's my brother. To the families that joined in on this and have their own story, thanks for seeing it's significance.
The evening I shot these was incredibly windy, and I had to back my vehicle right up to the backdrop to steady it all from falling over. Mother nature can take an evening of work away from me pretty quick (like tonight), but sometimes I've got tricks up my sleeve!
