A + C ✨

I simply cannot wait for their wedding next year in downtown Detroit! 2027 books are open. Inquire now, as I’m taking on eight weddings next year.

It’s hard to believe that landscapes like this exist just a few hours from home. Places that feel almost imaginary. Places that remind you how vast the world is and how easy it is to get caught up in the mundane without stopping to appreciate just how beautiful life can be.

Standing here, watching these two soak in the fact that they had just become husband and wife, I immediately knew I wanted these images to feel as cinematic as the moment itself. The scale of the cliffs, the waterfall, the tiny figures standing beneath it all. There was something so beautiful about witnessing such an intimate moment in a place that made all of us feel wonderfully small.

Shooting with intention is everything to me. I’m never interested in simply pointing my camera and pressing a button. I’m constantly thinking about how a moment feels and how I can translate that feeling into a photograph. This was one of those moments where I trusted my instincts completely, climbed around on rocks, chased the light, and created exactly what I had envisioned.

I’m incredibly fortunate to work with couples who trust me enough to do that. Couples who embrace the adventure, trust my perspective, and allow me the freedom to create imagery that feels true to both the moment and the experience.

I’m always looking for ways to create images that feel rooted in a place rather than simply taken within it.

This chessboard sat quietly in my bride’s home all morning, and eventually became the perfect backdrop for a few detail photographs. Sometimes the most meaningful details aren’t brought in for the wedding day at all. They’re already there, woven into the spaces where a story has already been unfolding.

Some of my favorite images come from slowing down, paying attention, and finding beauty in the things that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Back in the winter, Trent reached out about photographing his proposal to Olivia, and to this day, it remains one of the sweetest inquiry emails I’ve ever received.

From the very beginning, every detail was intentional. He knew exactly how he wanted the day to feel and had thoughtfully planned every detail with Olivia in mind. Every choice reflected how well he knows and loves her, and it made the entire day feel incredibly meaningful.

Getting to hide in the bushes and quietly witness such a beautiful chapter of their story was an absolute honor (and honestly, a lot of fun).

After the proposal, we wandered through the gardens and shot a few rolls of film together. These scans feel exactly how the day felt to me. So romantic, nostalgic, joyful, and full of so much love.

Wedding season hit me in full swing, and somewhere between the weddings, editing, travel, and all the beautiful chaos, social media took a bit of a backseat.

Truthfully, that’s never a bad thing. It means I’ve been busy doing what I love most: documenting love stories and serving incredible couples.

As I slowly find my way back to posting, I couldn’t think of a better photo to share. A sky this blue feels like an instant hit of dopamine, and these two made every frame feel effortless.

I’m so grateful for a season that’s kept me inspired, challenged me creatively, and allowed me to connect with so many amazing people.
