I received a phone call a few weeks ago asking to capture some last minute moments with Bailey. She did not have a time line when she was going to proceed, but knew it would be soon. We talked for a few minutes and I let her know when she's ready then I'll be there.
It's never easy to make post like these, but to some it could be their helping/grieving point. I never ask questions, I just sit and listen and let you do the talking to get it all out. When it comes to things like this, being there for someone is the only focus at that time!
Bailey was only 8 years old and in kidney failure. I walked in, no words were exchanged between Molly and me. Only a strong hug and silent tears among us both. In that moment as we sit there, it was like Bailey knew this session was for her for her mom to cherish. Bailey mastered up the strength for a 15 minute session and you could tell her body was tired. But through those 15 minutes, you could tell the love and bond those 2 had for each other! It's never easy capturing these kinds of sessions, but deep down I'm glad I get to be a part of it for any owner to look back on.
Bailey, even though you have crossed the Rainbow Bridge already, know that you were loved beyond measures by your mom. She will continue to gather a new stick each time when she goes for a walk, just as you did every day and have it sit by the back door!
