2014 Another Level Car Show has come and gone and we were there to cover the event for all that missed it. First off, I’d like to congratulate Justin Salvadalena and the rest of the Another Level staff. You all did a great job. From roll in to exit, it was an easy and smooth transition, showing great improvement from previous years. Every year your team makes it easier for participants and spectators to be able to enjoy the show.
I arrived early Saturday morning to capture vehicles rolling in and those setting up. I wasn’t early enough, because when I arrived, there were over 100 vehicles already in the show area setting up. As I did a quick walk thru in the show area before heading out to the street, I noticed how much more room there was this year compared to last year. Even better, there wasn’t a steep hill for lowered cars to struggle to navigate. I knew it was going to be a great day for a show even though the weather forecast called for slightly overcast skies.
While I was capturing snap shots of the cars rolling in, I realized that this really was going to be the show of the year. There were so many awesome looking vehicles, from old school Toyota Corollas to Lamborghini Aventadors. As I entered the show area, I recognized many faces and spent time talking with them and listening to all of the upgrades they had done in preparation for the show. A few drivers mentioned that they work really hard all year just to bring their cars to this show in A-one shape knowing that there is a massive amount of competition. Some of the few that really stood out to me were the old school Datsun and Toyota. Maybe because I am an old school guy, I really enjoy seeing these cars show up in the show scene. Oh and don’t forget E-Xtreme Graphics’ GMC 100 pick-up truck. Love this truck. Just awesome and talking with owner, he said if he lost everything, this would be the last thing to go.
Always a jaw dropping booth is Chicago Rally and Eurocharged Performance. They really bring it with high-end exotic cars including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lotus, etc.. One special appearance that got the crowd all hyped up was the Twin Turbo UGR Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. This car was a beast; I was told it had close to 2000hp. Hate to see my Geo against this car on the road!
Adventure Supercars was also on hand offering a chance to be able to take out one of the many supercars they have on a track for the experience of a lifetime. These guys were great and this was certainly a unique way to spend your afternoon. There were over 30 vendors showcasing their shops and products, including Autoglass Masters, Elite Auto Center, Fatboy Decals, Chameleon Skinz, Project X, JDM Chicago, Street Legal Audio, Stance Down Low, and BTM, just to name a few. Special thanks to all who help support Bombshell Bullies Pit Bull Rescue and Northern Illinois Food Bank.
It wouldn’t have been a show without DJ Jeffrey Parra spinning all night. This show did not disappoint me at all. I really had a great time working with the Another Level Staff and though I had originally planned to stay only a few hours, I ended up there throughout the whole show. It was great time and looks that all had great time too. I know for sure next year will be even bigger. They had a lot of space and those who didn’t attend will for sure look into it next year. Till next year, everyone be safe."
